Recharge, Rejuvenate & Shine Up Your Inner & Outer Radiance

Each weekend will have a common framework, but will also be unique as each featured guest mentor shares her special gifts and talents with us. Come renew your mind, rejuvenate your body, and feed your spirit. Each weekend will include:

  • Relaxation techniques (breath work, meditation)
  • Yoga (all levels, beginners welcome)!
  • Activities that connect and awaken us to Spirit and Nature
  • Nutritional and herbal support to promote energy, vitality and mental clarity. Food and health practices that help us correct and avoid some of the plagues of our modern lifestyles.
  • Crafting with our hands (i.e. making sacred mandalas, dream and/or gratitude journals, incense, masks, and pine needle baskets)
  • Delicious, vibrant food with cooking tips, recipes and demonstrations
  • Massage and spa treatments available
  • Song and laughter
  • Time to relax, go deep, learn, share, grow and go home inspired, rejuvenated and radiant! After recharging our batteries we'll have more energy to be a force for good in this world of ours!
"May I be at peace. May my heart remain open. May I awaken to my own true nature. May I be healed. May I be a source of healing for all beings."

This ancient Meta (loving kindness) meditation will serve as a framework for us as we meet through the seasons. The heart of the course will be to explore and incorporate practices into our lives to nourish, love, and heal ourselves so we are more able to nurture, heal, and be of service to others. Nancy, along with three incredible guest teachers, are sure to make each weekend nourishing, inspiring, educational and empowering.

Summer Weekend: Blossoming Like the Flowers

Guest Teacher Deb Soule of Avena Botanicals

Avena Botanicals

Just as the abundance of flowers bloom in summer, we'll practice the Meta meditation to blossom open our hearts to our own true nature. Radiating, blossoming, and abundance will be our theme as we practice yoga asana and pranayama. Nancy will share seasonal Ayurveda practices that will help us feel our best and shine through the summer months. Deb will share the practice of walking meditation as well as her love of flowers. She'll delve into the healing qualities of common flowers blooming in the garden at this time of year. She'll also guide us in making and using flower essences. Together we'll make herbal/flower body products and nurture and pamper ourselves using flowers for relaxation and healing.

Deb Soule is an herbalist, biodynamic gardener, teacher and author of The Woman's Handbook of Healing Herbs and How To Move Like A Gardener: Planting and Preparing Medicines from Plants. Raised in a small town in western Maine, Deb began organic gardening and studying the medicinal uses of herbs at age 16. Her faith in the healing qualities of plants and her love of gardening led Deb to found Avena Botanicals Herbal Apothecary in 1985. Five years earlier, Deb lived in Nepal near three Tibetan monasteries and was deeply moved by the Tibetan peoples commitment to ease physical ailments and mental and emotional upsets through the use of plants, prayer and other spiritual practices. Since that time she has devoted her life to working with and understanding the healing benefits medicinal plants and gardens offer individuals, families and pollinators. She focuses on using nourishing herbs, flower remedies, whole foods and meditation as part of her consulting practice. Avena Botanicals' three acre medicinal gardens have been certified by the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association for 29 years. In 2011 Avena became the first farm in Maine to be certified by Demeter as a biodynamic farm.

"If there's a person who embodies the essence of a community herbalist, it is Nancy Phillips. She's been one of our most popular teachers at Sage Mountain and has assisted me in my Herbal Apprentice Programs, the Science & Art of Herbology home study course, and at the New England Women's Herbal Conference and International Herb Symposium. Quite simply, I'm enthralled by her way of life, her beautiful gardens, her farm and family and encourage any one wishing a more in-depth knowledge of herbalism or seeking a more harmonious way of living to study with Nancy. You'll be delighted you did!"
